About Harambee Investments Co-operative Society(H.I.C.S)
Set up in December 2014 via a resolution of the Harambee Sacco during its 2013 Annual General Meeting held at the Kenya School of Monetary Studies. HICS began its operations in earnest in January of 2015.
From a handful of members in January of 2015, the society closed the year with 257 members by December 31st of that year. According to its 2015 audited accounts, HICS had an asset base of Kes. 4.8 million. Today, the story is different. In barely 5 years, the Society has grown its assets base to Kes. 112 million and its membership to 465 members by close of 2019
In a span of less than two year HICS is now in its third and fourth land buying and selling scheme having started in 2019 to sell the Harambee Oldonyo View phase 1, moving on to Harambee Flamingo View Estate in Nakuru and now back with a dual Harambee Shrine View Estate featuring 141 plots and Harambee Oldonyo View Estate Phase 2 featuring 112 plots and both trading for Kes. 699,000.00
So far Harambee Investment is in the process of issuing its 4oo + title deeds as it sells both the Harambee Ol-donyo View Estate and the Harambee Shrine View Estates in Kantafu. Conservative projection are such that HICS is likely to hit a targeted asset base of Kes. 500m before the end of 2022, and by 2025 it should be worth Kes. 1B.
