Sink Fund Services

This is an insurance cover that caters for our members in the sad event of death or permanent disability.

Features:

Benefits To Members

  • Members contribute Kshs 300.00 every month for sink fund
  • Upon death, our insurer will:
    • Pay the loan(s) of the deceased member (upon death of the principal member)
    • Double up member savings (to be paid the Next of Kin)
    • Pay funeral expenses as follows;
      • 150,000.00 paid in case principal is deceased.
      • 100,000.00 paid in case spouse is deceased (1 spouse only)
      • 100,000.00 paid in case of death of child (Maximum – 4 children)
      • 50,000.00 paid in case of death of parent.
  • SELF INFLICTED death or total permanent disability is NOT COVERED.
  • Members are required to ensure the beneficiaries’ information is always up-to-date.

How to Update member beneficiaries' details

Fill member updates form (with details of next of kin, spouse, children and parents), attaching ID, Photos (Required docs) and send the documents via EMS or drop them physically to the nearest FOSA Branch.

How to Confirm Your beneficiaries/Dependants Online

Dial *357#, Press 2 (my account), then Press 6 (Check Beneficiary). A message will be sent to your phone indicating the beneficiaries’ names.

Claiming

Requirements When Claiming

  • Request letter from the next of kin (claimant)
  • ID copy of the next of kin
  • Employer’s death confirmation letter for Principal/letter from Chief in case of spouse/child/parent.
  • Burial permit (for payment of funeral expenses)
  • Death certificate (original and copy)
  • Birth certificate for children
  • Marriage certificate
  • Deceased ID copy or surrender form
  • Deceased last pay slip
  • Letter of administration
  • Birth Certificate of the principal member in case of parent’s death

Documents to attach - to claim 150,000 /-

  • Request letter from next of kin (claimant)
  • ID copy of next of kin
